Now that tax season is behind us it’s time to think about doing something fun. We have two events planned for this spring.
Join us on April 24 when we will try to escape from Locked Room Omaha followed by drinks and appetizers at DJ’s Dugout. Visit our chapter website at omahaafwa.org to register for this event.
Next on the calendar is the annual Fund Raising Dinner that will be held on May 7. We are excited to have Moniki Gunn return as our guest speaker. Moniki Gunn is an advocate for her community which is displayed in all aspects of her personal and professional endeavors. Moniki has worked in many sectors from Fortune 500 companies to small non-profits. She currently serves as the Director of Employee Relations for Boys Town in Omaha. Moniki is also the founder of Put Me In Coach Coaching and Consulting where she serves as a leadership development coach and consultant focusing on individual performance, team engagement, and organizational culture. Her core passion, purpose, and mission is to support and uplift the “underdog” in career and business. We look forward to seeing everyone at this special event. Details are being finalized with the restaurant and registration will be available soon. Don’t forget to bring your money to purchase basket raffle tickets!
We are accepting donations for the basket raffle. Your donation will be acknowledged at the Fund Raising Dinner, on our chapter website, in our monthly newsletter, and on our social media accounts. Please contact [email protected] if you would like to donate a basket or cash to purchase a basket.

Fund Raising Dinner
The chapter will be hosting the annual Fund Raising Dinner in May. This event is an opportunity to showcase the chapter’s accomplishments for the year and to recognize our scholarship winners. The highlight of the evening is the basket raffle to raise funds for the chapter’s scholarship and education fund.
The success of the dinner depends on the planning done by the Fund Raising Dinner committee and the basket raffle donations contributed by local businesses. Even if you have a limited amount of time available your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Nominating Committee
The nominating committee is seeking members to serve on the 2025 – 2026 Board of Directors and to serve on various committees. The nominating committee will be contacting members to fill these positions.
Serving on a committee or the Board of Directors is a great way to develop your leadership skills and to grow your professional network. Serving the chapter demonstrates what we can achieve when we work together toward common goals.
The Omaha chapter will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026. We stand on the shoulders of the women who made this chapter a success. Please consider serving so we may carry that success forward to the next group of leaders.
